52. Posted November 21, 2011. Used the remote to open, loaded in some gear, then pressed liftgate button in the cargo area to close, but nothing happened. Pressed the liftgate button 2x on the remote - nothing. Went to the liftgate button on the dash, still nothing. So I closed the liftgate manually and proceeded to drive home.2016 Edge tailgate is stuck, won't open. Tried most every way to open it, but it seems stuck on one side. ... 25,743 satisfied customers. Then pressed the locking latch mechanism in the center up , two times until it was all the way locked. The lights went out in about 1 minute. To close the lift gate I went to the drivers door and pressed the lock, then unlock bottoms. Then closed the lift gate.
