Faith governs the Miracle Power and also increases the Magic Defense. It also controls the player's attack power for weapons that scale with Faith, any weapon that are upgraded down the Divine Upgrade or Occult Upgrade paths. Most miracles damage are also increased with faith. Dex weapons have generally lower damage and various disadvantages like armor type interactions meaning that most top builds will be spellswords which requires more levels. Quality has high flexibility and light to mid weight weapons with high damage.

Strength usually feels better for most pve, although wierdly in DS3 straightswords are OP and the lothric sword is dex based, and the astora greatsword is amazing in 3 and dex based. I would recommend going dex/ faith route with 30 faith and 40 dex. Use something like a balder side sword +15 with silver knight spear as your secondary weapon. Buff with Sunlight Blade (you can get more than one copy by doing multiple NGs). Other weapons to consider: Estoc +15, Uchi +15, Iaito +15, Painting Guardian Sword +15, Falchion +15 ...To create a Boss Soul Weapon you must do the following: Start with the base compatible weapon type that's specified below and then upgrade it to +5 with Titanite Shards by using a blacksmith such as Blacksmith Andre in the Undead Parish.
